Spider is a photodetector, a compact, high-precision device in Nireos' lineup of spectroscopy instruments.

The challenge was translating Nireos' established visual identity into a product with a completely different form factor.

Instead of applying their signature lines directly, I recreated that feeling of cuts and incisions by recessing surfaces, letting the shadows do the work. The internal circuit board became the starting point for the overall shape, letting the engineering lead the aesthetic. From there, every detail was considered: the buttons, the screen, the proportions.

A product that speaks the same language as the rest of the Nireos family, in its own way.
